January-June 2011::
JANUARY. broke at my first national speech and debate tournament in 2 events (semi-finalist wut wut). got accepted into Appalachian State University (!!). FEBRUARY. placed in both events at Duke. went to Boston. experienced Harvard, Cambridge, and independent adventures with the best team, ever. MARCH. became obsessed with the strokes. started messaging other incoming app state freshmen and made some great friends already. experienced all you can eat sushi for the first time. got thissssclose to breaking to finals at national qualifiers. cried a bit. APRIL. got feather extensions. experienced both loss and win in one day by hosting the state tournament at high school. visited appalachian state for the first time. found out that i would, indeed, be going to the national tournament in dallas. went to prom with a bunch of misfits who will be my friends for life. MAY. put down my deposit for App. went to Washington D.C. to compete in one of my last tournaments and have fun with the best of friends. took (and bombed) a.p. exams. won an award for my dedication to the speech team. dragged myself through newspaper every other day. completed and passed my graduation project. JUNE. got an iphone. cut 8 inches off of my hair before graduation. graduated high school (!!). went to dallas for the final national speech and debate tournament. braved elevators with screaming people. got together with mike. lazed around home celebrating my freedom. had college orientation and met a best friend/my current roommate.
